Shelter! House! Home!

Every Tom, Dick, and Harry identifies this term or want to converse about the word. But it’s not just a noun for us in our life. The term home is far more than just a word in our life. The name home is something which bring smile in our face, which is emotionally involved with so many remembrances in our life and the place where you feel safe, protected and relax.  We discussed about home on our day to day life and think about it earnestly. We travel lots of place in our life for professional or personal reason but ultimately after few days we get drowned in the memories of the house and then we call our home not just as home. It became home to sweet home for us.

Sometimes we hold another city or another country for business or personal purposes, and stay at someone's home or in a luxury hotel. There we get a different kind of luxury that is not available in our house. This luxury gives us comfort and happiness for some time but a short time later, we seem to recall your home.

Our question remains same. What is the meaning of home for us? And what is the different between a house and a home. House is structure made by the different material like concrete, bricks and wood. House made of any material where we live permanently or temporarily. But a house become home once we emotionally attached with this. So it is not necessary that every house become home for us. Have you ever think about the kind of emotion attached with our home?  A home is made not by bricks or wood. however, home is made with the help of the impression of family. A home is a place, where a person reminds of countless memories and values when he walks through. A person who has achieved many heights in life, but if he does not have someone to share it with, then his achievement would mean nothing. In other words, home is also semantically related to sharing the happiness, grief, and material things with one’s family. No matter what going on in someone life up’s and down’s but home is the place where we know someone is there to take care about him mentally. Home is the place where member of the family gathered and share their daily emotion.  It is very interesting to share, from our ancient age home is consider as our financial capability. Now let's try to brush our memory and discussed about our past.

If we talk about the history of the house, the transaction period is very long and after so many years it looks like the house where we live today. In ancient period, people used to live in caves and it adopted as their house, it was the time of prehistoric period, whatever it was cave or any other place where they live, people loved that place as their house. Step by step people learnt to live by gathered and making their livelihood, but never underestimated the importance of a shelter. In stone Age, Man knew how to build shelters, they used natural environment for their shelter. The earliest forms of shelter were in trees, where it provided minimal protection against the searing of the sun and the cold of the rained.

It is generally said that Roti, Kapada aur Makan is our basic need, we manage all of these but this is the home we see the dream for making it in a beautiful way. A home is typically said very closely attached with the house owner life and owner fills proud after possession. Owning a house is a dream for everyone. now a day, in our society we start judging people behavior, emotions and overall mental health with their house. Popular saying “a man’s home is his castle and there is no place like home”. In today world there are different kind of nomenclatures use for various home like nursing home, retirement home, foster homes.

Now the question arise why people own a house: residential homes are generally bought for emotional reasons.

Status symbol- Status symbol is prime reason; people build their own house. One should feel proud once they tell their friend or relative that they built a house.  

Freedom of living-  In rented house, it means you can’t paint the building, can’t place a nail in any wall, neither have permission to keep your house as per your wish nor attach permanent fixtures. Home ownership gives you and your family a sense of stability and security and finally end the tortured, humiliating, awkward, frustrating relationships with landlords. Tenant have several problems with their landlord like refusing to fix a broken structure, not allowing pets. Landlord will kick you out of the house any time by giving the excuse, that he is planning to sell this property.

Serenity- Living in a rented house, anyone required the backup to pay the rent on time. For business men or a service people if their income disturbs by any reason then it became difficult for them to pay the rent on time.

Financial advantage- Beyond Status symbol, other benefits are also attached with this. Price of the house goes up day by day We have lots of example where we see the price goes just double within five to six years. Sometime people want to buy house not for their living but to rent that property to someone else and develop a regular source of income.

For a lifestyle- People want to buy their house, where they can full fill their life style as per they want. Suppose someone has wish to teach student in their spare time but unable to do the same, maybe there are no student in nearby. A house near a locality where so many school going student are live can help that person to fulfill his desire.

Keeping up with others- This is also the reason for many buyers. They want to compete with their known ones. And want to show their relative and friend that they have high status in society and always talk about it.
